Probably the most prominent element I try and bring out in my photography is story telling. Ever since I started taking a little point and shoot on backpacking trips I've found that by using a camera to document a journey or event I not only keep record of defining moments, but also delve into another - more elaborate - level of experience. Putting myself behind a camera forces me to pay greater attention to the details and elements in my environment, ask more questions, and often do something I wouldn't have done otherwise; crest that sharp ridge, start a conversation with a stranger, wake up before dawn, etc. Here are some of those stories, solely in pictures.
